Jamie French, LGM

It occurs to me that as this Toastmasters’ year gets underway that as a district we have the opportunity to touch, impact and yes even change the lives of a record number of individuals.

How? You ask.  Well, as you know the business of Toastmasters is to change people’s lives.  Every one of us can probably say that Toastmasters has changed our life in some way, and I believe we have a responsibility to share the life changing experience of Toastmasters with others, yet do we share our Toastmasters’ experience with others?

Stop and think for a minute.  We have no problem sharing funny emails, low gas prices and if the latest movie is worth watching with our families, friends and co-workers because we want them to have a positive experience.  While these things we share with little or no thought have the potential to put a smile on someone’s for the moment, we have a great opportunity to change their life forever if we choose to.  Thus I believe we have an obligation to our families, friends and co-workers to share the life-changing benefits of Toastmasters.

We all understand that our Toastmaster Club is a ‘learning laboratory’ where we can practice our communication and leadership skills.  Enabling us to polish them so we are more effective leaders and communicators where is really matters: at home, in our communities and at work.  Think how much stronger our communities, the same communities in which we live work and play, would be if more people took advantage of the life changing experience of Toastmasters.

How many lives have you helped change today?

This year as the Lieutenant Governor of Marketing I have a vision and a plan for sharing the life changing experience of Toastmasters with as many people as possible.
