Welcome to my page.  Here you will find information of how to submit items to the web site.  Previews of ideas I have for the site and would like some feedback on before fully incorporating them into the site and perhaps some of my editorial musings and ramblings (Toastmaster related).

Below are presentations I make relating to our Web site.

Web Submission Guidelines

•        QUICK ANNOUNCEMENTS:

–       Announcements to be included on the NEWS Page

-         Should be about five lines long (short paragraph)

-         Email them to the webmaster as part of the email not an attachment

-         I use a “cut and paste” method to put them on the page, so what you type will be what you see (I do a spell check and will read for clarity)

–       Quick announcements are great for quick reminders such as approaching deadlines or a congratulatory message

–       If the announcement is longer than five lines it should be submitted as an attachment to be added to the web

•        FOR DISTRICT TRAINING AND CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENTS:

–       Announcements for District training or contests (Area, Division and above) must include time and place as well as clear directions to event site (remember that Toastmasters from other divisions may come to the event)

–       Accurate street maps or links that can be cut and pasted into a document are available on the Internet

–       The announcement should also include a contact (phone number and or email address), and any costs or meal information

–       You may submit to webmaster in an email with an attachment

–       Information should be forwarded to the webmaster as soon as known; when possible at least 3 weeks prior to the event

•        PAGE FORMAT GUIDELINES:

–       Email the information in the text of an Email message and as an attachment to the email

–       Your attachments may be created using Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint as the preferred format

-   If you submit in a .pdf format please include a .txt file as well.  We try to maintain accessibility for all members and some reading programs work better with text files

–       If the information includes personal information (phone numbers, addresses, etc) please include a statement that it is OK to publish this information on our web pages

-         Remember the information on this web is available worldwide to anyone

Webmaster Disclaimer (Courtesy to the Webmaster)

Please understand that we are volunteers and will do our best to get things changed, updated and/or added as quickly possible. If something is urgent such as a date postponement or unexpected change let us know and we will try to do immediately.  We appreciate as much lead time as you give us to put something on these pages.

Generally we will uploaded to the site within a week but work and travel schedules can inhibit this so the more time the better.  We do try to acknowledge receipt of a request but please feel free to email and ask the status of an update if it is not there within a week...if you do not get an answer within a few days or your request please call and ask...sometimes email does not get through or is blocked.

•        The Webmaster(s) are delegated and reserve the right to refuse or edit any document submitted

–       This web site is an official publication of the District, and the District Governor is responsible for its content

–       If you are asking to publish previously copyrighted material you must include written permission from the author before it will be published

–       Creating or supplying web links to other information is fine

–       Any complaints will be referred directly back to the supplier of information and the information will be immediately removed from the site until the issue is resolved
